Do you have a product that is perfect for H-E-B Stores and You Want to Become a H-E-B Supplier?
In this training, we’re going to be talking about how to sell your products to H-E-B grocery chains. If you have a great food product or just want to learn about selling to supermarkets, this little video segment will hopefully give you some tips and strategies on getting started.
My ultimate goal is just to help people across the board learn how to generate revenue with their physical product, and that’s why I’ve been doing this for so many years, helping tens of thousands of product companies succeed with their physical products.
Become a H-E-B Supplier
H-E-B is a privately held supermarket chain based in Texas. It has over 350 stores that they’re responsible for mostly in the United States and Texas and so forth. So that’s a really big deal. They also have locations in Mexico.
Things to think about in regards to them is that they sell anything for Bakery, Dairy Foods, General Grocery, Meat, Pharmacy, and all that good stuff that they currently sell grocery chains. They also sell stuff like Medics and all the basics and stuff.
Selling to H-E-B
There are a few things to note about selling to H-E-B.
- They typically buy on a corporate level, meaning they have corporate buyers. But they also tend to also have local and regional buyers because they’re a grocery chain. This basically means that on a local store level, they buy perishable foods and so forth. So they always need buyers on a local level who have their own buying budgets and so forth.
- Before you approach them, please learn how to speak to them. You can definitely go after retailers and not do very well, and we don’t want that for you. We want you to learn exactly how to approach, pitch, and sell them correctly, which is why I do what I do.
- They have local, regional, and corporate buyers. That’s a very big deal, not all retailers offer that. Meaning that you could drive in your car and go to their local store and see if you can sell them on an individual store basis.
- They started opening these Plus stores, H-E-B Plus, and they’re not that many of them, but it’s a new way of selling products. The reason I mention that is because they started to expand their non-food categories. In these certain stores, they’re adding all sorts of varieties. They’re selling do-it-yourself products, Texas backyard products, baby card and party products, cosmetics, entertainment, housewares, and toys. They’re trying to grow the size of their store and then also what they’re actually selling, basically to focus on non-food categories, which is a big deal for some of you who are trying to grow your business.
- H-E-B has locations in Mexico. The reason that matters is usually the buyer in Mexico has a different buying power and budget than the one in the United States. So something to consider is you could conceivably sell to separate buyers in Mexico versus the United States, even though it’s the same company.
H-E-B is like the 12th largest retailer in the United States, which is pretty big in terms of revenue. This obviously changes as retailers grow, but it can be a very great opportunity.
Getting Started with Selling to H-E-B Stores
One of the reasons I decided to create these little videos is because some of you guys have never even thought about these grocery chains. So I try to shed light on them because maybe you don’t live in Texas or whatever and so you’re not paying attention to certain retailers. So just because you live in another state doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go after these types of stores.
If you want to learn exactly how to approach, pitch, and sell H-E-B Grocery Company, definitely take a look at my website. We have free content, we also have advanced retail training on exactly how to approach, pitch, and sell to retail chains that you can purchase. We also have live events and certification programs and anything related to making money with the physical product and so forth.
Hope this provided value for you. Please be on the lookout for the next training that we create, and we really appreciate you and your business. Thanks so much.zj

Selling Your Products to HEB Grocery Chains: Tips and Strategies
Are you looking to sell your food products to HEB grocery chains? Or are you just interested in learning about selling to supermarkets in general? If so, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll provide you with some tips and strategies on how to get started. Our goal is to help you generate revenue with your physical product, and we’ve been doing this for years, helping tens of thousands of product companies succeed with their physical products.
HEB is a privately held supermarket chain based in Texas, with over 350 stores mostly in the United States and Mexico. They sell anything from bakery, dairy, foods, general grocery, meat, pharmacy, to basics and other products. The grocery chain has corporate, local, and regional buyers, which means that you can sell to them on either level. However, before approaching them, it’s essential to know how to speak to them and pitch your product correctly.
One of the things to note is that HEB grocery chains buy on a corporate level, but they also tend to have local and regional buyers. This is because they need buyers on a local store level who have their buying budgets, especially for perishable foods. That said, you don’t have to sell your product to all 350 stores based on your product. You can start small and grow by pitching to individual store managers or regional managers.
HEB has local, regional, and corporate buyers, which is a significant advantage for those looking to sell their products. Not all retailers offer this kind of buying structure, and it’s something you should consider when planning to sell to HEB grocery chains. You can drive to their local store and sell to them on an individual store basis. However, before you do that, ensure that you know how to deal with the process to avoid wasting time and resources.
Another interesting fact about HEB is that they started opening Plus stores, which is a new way of selling products. Although there aren’t many of them, they’ve been expanding their non-food categories, making it an exciting opportunity for those without food products. They sell all sorts of varieties such as do-it-yourself products, Texas backyard products, baby card and party products, cosmetics, entertainment, housewares, and toys. This means that HEB is growing the size of their store and focusing on non-food categories, which is an excellent opportunity for those who want to grow their business.
HEB has locations in Mexico, and the buyer there has a different buying power and budget than the United States. This means that you can sell to separate buyers in Mexico and the United States. Even though it’s the same company, selling to different buyers gives you more opportunities to generate revenue with your physical product.
HEB is the 12th largest retailer in the United States, which is a significant opportunity for those looking to sell their products. However, some people may not have considered HEB grocery chains due to their location, but that shouldn’t be a barrier. Whether you live in Texas or not, you can still go after these types of stores.
