“Toys "R" Us isn’t Dead Yet…Toys “R” Us may have closed its U.S. stores this year, but fans of the iconic retailer’s brands — like Animal Zone and Imaginarium — won’t be completely out of luck this holiday season. Kroger is teaming up with the hedge fund that owns Toys “R” Us brands to offer 35 toys at nearly 600 locations. The toys will be priced from $19.99 to $49.99 and be featured in a section of the store known as Geoffrey’s Toy Box. Geoffrey, a cartoon giraffe, served as the longtime mascot of Toys “R” Us. The grocery giant joins Walmart, Target and other retailers vying for a bigger bite of the toy sales left behind by Toys “R” Us’s closure."
